Meet our beautiful founder, Monika Petersen, the visionary behind Gypsy Thrift Collective. Inspired by a life of travel, artistry, and a passion for timeless beauty, Monika created Gypsy Thrift Collective as a destination where bohemian soul meets quiet luxury.

She is also the creator of the Malatee line, lovingly created as an homage to her mother. Rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and tradition, the collection features thoughtfully designed clothing, handmade by her family in Thailand, with the help from villagers from a small town in the Isan region, alongside small batch, curated pieces created through a close partnership with a small artisan business in Rajasthan India. 

With a love for vintage treasures, artisan craftsmanship, organic textiles, and thoughtfully curated décor, her vision is rooted in creating an immersive shopping experience filled with warmth, harmony and authenticity. Every piece throughout the collective reflects her passion for soulful intentional living, elevated design, and meaningful connection.
